In addition to the above, the Junior School boys are offered other break-time extra-curricular activities, some of which are designed to help them improve  their knowledge of certain academic subjects which they may find difficult:

  • Cooking - the medium of instruction is Maltese. This enables students to learn the practical aspects of their national language outside the traditional classroom setting; these lessons are done during a Maltese lesson and takes place once a term during procedural writing;
  • Chess - problem solving situations. This is taught to the boys by a 6th Form student once a week

Live-In Experience

The College has an exciting Live-in programme starting from Year 5. The Live-ins are an ideal way for the students to get a taste of "independence" within the safety of a school environment. Spending some time living at College gives our boys a high quality educational experience and a unique opportunity to interact with their peers and teachers in a way that the normal school day simply does not provide. Whilst on the Live-in, skills such as responsibility, time-management, being part of a community, as well as caring for one's belongings are developed in a happy and safe environment. Needless to say, safety first.

Students attend normal lessons until 15:20, a tailor-made timetable is designed to encourage them to socialize, develop existing friendships and form new ones, reach new levels of maturity... whilst all the while having a fantastic time. Time is also allocated for homework and studying each day.
