The Student Representative Council was set up in January 2008 in order to give all College students a chance to have their ideas and opinions heard.

The main aim of St. Edward’s SRC is to improve and maintain the quality of College life for all students by liaising with staff members and by raising student issues at scheduled meetings with Senior Staff. Our aim is to hear every suggestion, idea or complaint, and to do our utmost to ensure that the Council helps as many boys as possible. As with all other, more established organizations within the school, we aim to be as efficient as possible, and to further instill true Edwardian values into our students. As councilors, it is part of our job to help students understand what it means to be part of a team, and in this respect many team-based activities are organized to foster this spirit of friendship.

Apart from the service we provide to students, we also organize various fund-raising activities. All money raised by the Student Council will go towards projects suggested by the students themselves thereby increasing their sense of belonging to this College.

It is our job to help students understand what it means to be part of a team, and in this respect many team-based activities are organized to foster this spirit of camaderie. The SRC is your voice within the school community.

It is important that all students participate actively and give their ideas. Students should know and are able to communicate freely with their class or year representative. This way we get a better idea of what we need to do as a whole.

But as in any public monument or property, the subject is often made by and for the general public. This is the case here at school; anything introduced by the SRC will be for the students. Remember it would be asked for and put into action by fellow class mates. Therefore we must respect this and take care of it, as if it were our own which in fact it is.

The Council is made up of the Representatives (years 5-11) who deal with welfare and equal opportunities issues for their particular year of concern. Council meets at least twice a month. Dates of coming meetings are available in the Meeting minutes section of our website.
